अष्टावक्र गीता - भावपद्यानुवाद (बावनवीं कड़ी)

                             
                                     अठारहवाँ अध्याय (१८.६६-१८.७०)                                                                                                       (With English connotation)

धीर पुरुष है गगन समाना, सदा विकल्प-रहित वह रहता|

जग व उसका आभास कहाँ है, कहाँ साध्य साधन है रहता|| (१८.६६)

The wise man is definite in his thoughts, not

subject to options and unchanging like space.

He is not conscious of the world or its existence

and of goals and means to acquire the same. (18.66)

स्वाभाविक स्थित स्व-रूप में, निष्कामी समाधि में  रहता|

पूर्णानंद स्वरुप है वह ज्ञानी, जग में सदा है विजयी रहता|| (१८.६७)

Glorious is the wise who is by nature free from

all desires and is always established in self. (18.67)

आत्म-तत्व का जो ज्ञाता है, भोग, मोक्ष इच्छा न वह करता|

ज्ञाततत्व है सदा ही जग में, सर्वत्र राग द्वेष मुक्त वह रहता|| (१८.६८)

One who is aware of the truth of self does not

hanker for pleasure or attachment. He always

and everywhere remains free from attachment. (18.68)

केवल नाम मात्र यह जग है, भिन्न आत्मा से कब रहता|    

जो चैतन्य स्वरुप में स्थित, उसको कोई कर्तव्य न रहता|| (१८.६९)

The whole world is nothing but illusion and is not

different from the self. For the wise man who is

established in his pure consciousness, what else

remains to be done? (18.69)

यह संसार मात्र एक भ्रम है, इसका कोई अस्तित्व न होता|

शुद्धमना, आत्म-ज्ञानी जो, इसको समझ शांत मन होता|| (१८.७०)

The wise man, who is pure-hearted and is aware

of his self, is always at peace, because he knows

that this world is mere illusion and has no existence. (18.70)
