अठारहवाँ अध्याय (१८.७६-१८..८०) (With English connotation)
आत्म तत्व का श्रवण भी करके, अज्ञानी नहीं
मूढ़ता तजता|
जग व्यापार मुक्त होकर भी, मन विषयों को
धारण करता|| (१८.७६)
Even after hearing about the truth of
Self, the fool
does not leave his stupidity. He may
appear
outwardly free from all the activities
of the world,
but inside he is still hankering after
the senses. (18.76)
गलित कर्म जब हुआ ज्ञान से, लौकिक दृष्टि
में कर्म है करता|
लेकिन मैं यह कर्म को करता, ऐसा वह ज्ञानी
कभी न कहता|| (१८.७७)
In the eyes of the world doing all the
acts, the wise
man, who has dissolved all his acts
through
knowledge, never says that he is doer of
any act. (18.77)
रहित सभी विकारों से जो ज्ञानी, भय से दूर
सदा वह रहता|
तम, प्रकाश न त्याग है उसको, उनका है
अस्तित्व न रहता|| (१८.७८)
For the wise man, who is unchanging and
free from
all senses and fear, there is no
existence of light,
darkness or renunciation. (18.78)
कहाँ विवेक, धैर्य ज्ञानी को, अनिर्वाच्य
स्वभाव है होता|
स्वभाव रहित होता वह ज्ञानी, आनंद-रूप
एकरस होता|| (१८.७९)
There is neither
patience nor prudence for the
Yogi whose
nature is beyond description and
free from
individuality. He remains happy in all
circumstances. (18.79)
ज्ञानी को न स्वर्ग, नरक है, न वह मोक्ष
कामना रखता|
अन्य कथन से नहीं प्रयोजन, योगी को कुछ भी
न दिखता|| (१८.८०)
For the Yogi there is neither heaven or
hell nor
desires for liberation. He is not
concerned with
what others say about him because in his
sight
nothing exists. (18.80)
